Few things are as cherished as a wedding gown. With the careful planning that goes into selecting the perfect gown, many brides choose to heirloom their dress as a keepsake. A properly preserved gown preserves the dream of passing it down to a daughter or close family friend.

While a gown may be worn just one day, and may not appear soiled, it will require careful cleaning. Hidden soiling includes perspiration and body oils. Long gowns will pick up soil along the hemline and train and very likely, there will be food and beverage spills. Some stains, which are not immediately visible, will develop with age through oxidation causing discoloration, fabric weakness and damage to the gown.

Our wedding gown specialists carefully examine every gown, establishing the most suitable method of cleaning. Inspections are made at every stage of the cleaning and preservation process. Each wedding gown receives special and individual handling, with attention given to every detail.

Heirloom Preservation

Our newly designed storage boxes feature state of the art moisture and oxygen control technology. Traditional wedding gown storage boxes do not protect or guarantee against oxidation or "yellowing" of the gown. Our advanced system guarantees that your gown will be as good as the day you wore it down the aisle.

Your dress is carefully sealed in an acid-free inner box that controls humidity. The oxygen is purged and replaced with an inert gas, virtually making oxidation impossible. Our sealed packaging allows viewing of your gown and veil at any time, while protecting your gown from mold, mildew, insect damage and oxidation. The inner box is placed in a durable long-term storage chest for additional safety.

The First Step

No matter what the garment, careful cleaning is one of the most important steps. Your treasured item will be cleaned and meticulously inspected. These methods will make certain that oils, visible stains and marks are removed. Also removed are those troublesome stains that are "invisible" to the eye. If left in place, these difficult stains can discolor and eventually cause deterioration of the fabric. The Process will assure that stains that contain any form of sugar will be removed. Sugar-type stains will not be dissolved during ordinary drycleaning. Over time this sort of stain will tend to "caramelize" into unsightly brownish marks and streaks. Salt, a natural by-product of wear by contact with the skin, can still remain in the garment after typical drycleaning and over time salt will damage the fabric of the garment. The cleaning techniques used by every PPP licensee guarantee that these precautions will be taken.

The Second Step

Careful pressing, folding, shaping and inserting into the preservation container is the next important step. How a garment is folded for storage is very important. The fabric must be folded tenderly, taking care not to create tight creases that may cause a permanent effect on the fabric. Ordinary boxes and packing tissues contain a form of "acid" which may damage fabric. Ordinary boxes may cause "yellowing" and "burning" of the fabric. Over several years of storage, brown streaks may form wherever the fabric of the garment was in contact with acidic corrugated cardboard or tissue. Only acid-neutral tissue and acid-neutral boxes are used throughout the Prestige Preservation process. Also, heat-shrink, clear vinyl material is used that will not damage a stored item.

The Third Step

The Prestige Preservation Process packaging and sealing of your treasured garment is the final step. First, your garment is carefully placed within a high-quality inner box...a box that does not contain any of the damage-causative elements mentioned above. It will be folded with high-quality acid-neutral tissue so as not to cause permanent creases. The inner box is then sealed with a heat-shrink neutral clear vinyl material. This encapsulating film protects the contents from contaminating air, dust, or infestation. After sealing, a proprietary process removes the oxygen from within the seal. Then the oxygen is replaced by a special formulation of inert gases that enhance the preservation process. You will be able to view the item stored through a view window in the sealed packaging. Your garment is then placed in an outer protection box. The outside box is printed with information about the preservation process and a description of the warranty provided and instructions on what to do if you have any concerns.

Finally, your bridal gown or special garment is placed in a heavy-duty shipping package to assure its protection during shipping to your home or business...

Preserve your treasured memory for someone special. Restore your gown to the true color and form.

We are a family owned and operated business with extensive experience in heirloom preservation and quality clothes care. Our quality and customer service are unsurpassed.
