LAMINATE NOW OFFERS THE BEAUTY OF GRANITE WITHOUT THE UPSCALE PRICE
AND MAINTENANCE
Wilsonart's MesaGranite™ Premium Collection of Laminates is
Better than the Real Thing
Granite has been at the top of the kitchen counter renovation charts
for a number of seasons. The cool, smooth stone embodies fine design,
excellent taste and luxury, but comes equipped with a steep price tag and
the demands of regular maintenance. That's why Wilsonart International has
created its new MesaGranite Collection.
Consisting of 10 premium laminate designs, the collection introduces a
new, high-end look for laminate without the upscale price or upkeep.
MesaGranite costs $30 to $50 per foot, installed, whereas granite costs
$70 to $150 per foot, installed. Additionally, MesaGranite comes with all
of the benefits that laminate has to offer, namely durability and easy
care, and unlike granite, it doesn't need to be sealed periodically to
prevent staining.
Revolutionary Benefits
Aside from the low cost and lack of maintenance, here's what really makes
MesaGranite so unique and superior - the patterns reflect both natural and
man-made materials. Simply put, this means that the line contains hues
normally found in granite, such as brown, warm beige, green and brick red,
in addition to colors that are impossible to find in natural granite, such
as true blue. What's more, warm and cool greys, beige and tan are
difficult to find in nature, and even if they were available, they
wouldn't be practical due to staining. With laminate, this is a non-issue.
The benefits don't end there because Wilsonart uses a special finish on
this collection to give MesaGranite the same super-smooth look and tactile
quality of granite. This finish enhances the depth and subtleties of the
designs, without compromising the laminate's famed scuff-and-scratch
resistance.
Color Families
MesaGranite patterns are also grouped into color families, or pattern
pairs, that allow shoppers to coordinate a lighter pattern with a more
saturated or darker version to mix and match the designs on the
countertops, backsplashes, accents, bartops and islands. These pattern
pairs are as follows:
